ART ADVENTURES SERIES

YPW wants to keep the artist in every child alive and growing.
So please enroll your young person in one of our fun and hands-on
Art workshops and watch his/her inner artist develop!

Petite Picasso: Ages 2 to
3
It is never too early (or to late) to learn and create!
Side-by-side, you and your preschooler will discover the
ways in which master artists Picasso and Mondrian used
shape and color in their art pieces. Together, you will
both create your very own masterpieces exploring some
of the processes of painting, sculpture and print making.
Your work will be showcased at Gallery Night at the end
of workshop.

Mini Masters: Ages 4 to
5
Learn about the styles of master artists Mondrian, Picasso
and Van Gogh! Each young person will be encouraged to
stretch his/her imagination while creating original
prints, sculptures and paintings. The last week features
a Gallery Night for the parents showcasing the students'
artwork.

Art of the Ancient World: Ages:
6 to 8
This camp focuses on art of the ancient world exposing
children to different mediums while teaching them about
great civilizations of centuries past. Ancient Egypt
will be the focus here. Children will have their body
traced and design their own sarcophagi with authentic
ancient Egyptian designs. Translating their name into
hieroglyphics they will be become familiar with writing
of those times, in addition to learning about the good
luck of the scarab beetle and other symbols and customs
the Egyptians were known for while turning this knowledge
into art!

Art of Latin America:
Ages: 8 to 13
This camp emphasizes on the vibrant arts of Latin
America. Some of the projects will introduce children
to various folk arts, techniques and the master works
of famous female Mexican painter Frida Kahlo exposing
them portraiture. Projects will be on going throughout
the week and will involve many mixed media techniques
giving children the opportunity to leave with their
very own piece of fine art!
