Join us for a virtual journey through Hispanic countries to know about their people and culture. These countries include Mexico, the majority of the Central and South American countries, and most of the Greater Antilles.
Native speaking teachers will immerse your child in Spanish while having a great time. Every two weeks we will travel to different Latin countries.
Children will rotate through the following stations: Spanish Workshop, Cooking (Food & Recipes), Culture Station (Art & Crafts), Team Games, and Yoga. Camps are broken up into groups according to language skill, age and friends.

We take our campers beneath the Bermuda Triangle on the undersea adventures of their lives! Young people will spend a week building and programming robots. They'll build robots to explore the ocean floor, save a giant squid, connect an air pipeline, and more. Parents are invited to an end-of-the-session "graduation" at YPW. Calling all adventure seekers!
Discover the power of earth, fire, ice, wind, and water as you explore earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciers, and oceans. Create a glacier, a tornado in a bottle; make an edible earthquake and much, much more in this Earth-shaking camp. During this camp, campers will get to know the earth, our effect on it, and how we can be helpful residents on our planet. Young People will also create a model of water runoff, manufacture recycled paper, model the eye of a hurricane, and build devices to explore wind, water, and solar power. Be prepared to get a little muddy, a little wet, and more curious!

Fine Arts Day Camp is a visual arts program. Campers will learn many of the following: painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, hand-built ceramics, collographs, papermaking, mask-making, fabric dyeing, mixed media, and much more. This summer campers will have the opportunity to learn how art and the environment intersect. Our camp focus this summer will be on "Art and the Environment." Some of the art projects campers will do will include looking at artists whose work reflect the environment they live in and how environmental issues affect an artist's work. By studying this subject campers will learn specific techniques in regards to media such as drawing, painting and sculpture.

This camp is an introduction to building and programming robots using the LEGO NXT system. Students will learn mechanical design, construction, programming and teamwork skills. In small teams, using LEGO blocks, motors and sensors, students build robots that can walk, draw, move objects, or find their own way and avoid obstacles. Students use a control console or computer to teach their robots to move, react, and make sounds in order to solve challenges.

This Deep Space Terraformers Camp leads young campers to the edge of the universe in a robotic adventure that glimpses a future when humankind will transform distant planets into livable habitats.
In this Camp adventure, campers are first tasked to learn basics in the training areas on the Space Shuttle Entropy. Next, campers visit a series of moons, where they hone their terraforming skills. The adventure culminates on the planet Pantheon.

Robo campers help transform Pantheon into an environment where humanoids can live and thrive while building and programming various robots.

As the campers "cook" with the power of Sun, campers will learn how the Sun can be used with other renewable energies. Campers will learn to make a solar-powered ice maker, marshmallow melter, "death ray", and a chocolate fondue!
Also, campers will build solar-powered models and discover how solar cells generate electricity from light. Models such as: a locomotive, single-prop plane, bulldozer, helicopter, backhoe, and twin-rotor helicopter.

Learn how to perform dissections on a variety of animals including worms, grasshoppers, frogs among others in this fun and exciting hands-on biology camp. They will also learn appropriate lab and dissection safety. A great way for future doctors, veterinarians, and biologists to get hands-on experience!

CAMP FEES

Healthy snacks are provided in all camps.
If you have registered for a full day camp, your child will need to bring a sack lunch.
Lunch supervision is provided for full day campers.

The following discounts apply to siblings as well. For instance, when you register two siblings for any of our camps, you'll pay $210 plus registration fee if any is applicable.

 

1/2 DAY CAMP FEES
Please note that a camp is half day.
You’ll have to select a morning and afternoon camp to make it a full day camp. For full day camp rates see next section.
One Camp/One Child $221 per camp
Two Camps/One Child $210 per camp
Three Camps or more/ One Child $200 per camp
FULL DAY CAMP FEES
Please note, the Spanish Day Camp includes before and after camp care.
For all the other YPW full day camps, the before and after camp care is extra.

EXTRA FEES
Before Camp Care from 7:00 am to 9:00 am Monday – Friday. Campers are supervised as they play games or watch a movie.
Campers are escorted to their camp room at 9:00 am.
$30 per week
After Camp Care from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday – Friday. Campers are escorted to the after camp classroom at the end of the camp day. Campers are supervised as they play games or do craft activities in the classrooms. A snack is provided in the afternoon. Campers must be picked up by 6:00 pm., after which an extra charge of $1.00 pr minute will be applied. $30 per week

• One registration form must be completed for each camper you are registering.

• Registration forms with incomplete or inaccurate information will not be processed.

• Forms may be faxed or mailed, please do not do both!

In the event that minimum enrollments are not met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule camps. If this happens, your entire registration will be refunded.

CANCELLATIONS / EXCHANGES / REFUNDS

Due to the high demand for camp spaces, each sale will be considered final.

• Registrations are not transferable from child to child.

• Registration & Material fee are Non-Refundable

• Families who cancel a camp or wish to switch their child from one camp to another will receive a 50% refund of the cost of a cancelled or dropped camp if notification is received at least 10 working days before that camp starts. There are no refunds for camps cancelled or dropped less than 10 working days before camp begins.

• In order to receive the 50% refund, famiies must contact YPW via email: ypw@YoungPeoplesWorkshops.com
